In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

A Hug From Keoni, 1/10/14

Last Friday, Anne's and my 13 year old grandson Keoni had an 8 pm basketball game, which I attended.

His team is the Lakers and his best friend Reilly is on that team, coached by their dads, our son Kyle and his friend Jared.

After the game, which the Lakers won, Keoni walked up and gave me a big hug, and thanked me for attending. Never before had I gotten a big hug from Keoni and I was delighted.

Sunday two days later, Keoni had a morning game which the Lakers also won, and again he gave me a big hug and thanked me for attending. Anne attended this game as well and he gave her a big hug too, as he often does.

Keoni is a wonderful young man and it is very special to me to think we may be bonding.
