In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

An Afternoon With Cameron, 8 And Carina, 5 On 2/2314

On Sunday, Anne and I took our grandchildren Cameron and Carina to see the big box office hit, "The Lego Movie," which they very much wanted to see. Of course we bought all the junkies the kids wanted, filling up their little tummies.

At the end of the movie I asked Cameron what he thought of it and he replied, "Good, not great. Four stars." This little guy actually sounded like a professional movie reviewer.

When we got home, the kids wanted to watch "Muppets in Space" (1999) which we did. But the most fun was playing with them in the backyard sunshine, as Carina picked flowers she gave to Anne and Cameron and I played catch for about an hour, the most fun I've had in playing ball with him. It was a joy.
