In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

A Conversation About God With Gannon, Age 6, 3/24/14

Last night as my grandson Gannon and I walked together, he spotted a church, pointed to the crosses and said, "That's where God lives."

Gannon is a very bright and personable child with a broad sense of humor and I decided to engage him. "God lives everywhere," I replied with warmth in my voice.

Instantly the well-known Gannon smirk crossed his face. "He lives everywhere?" he responded, and I knew the game was on.

He then proceeded in asking about God living in such places as a baseball field, a tree, on top of his head, as with a chuckle, he tried to shake God off his head. He even asked if God "lives in a toilet."

Gannon and I both got a laugh out of this conversation, but it is a good reminder to anyone who proclaims, "God lives everywhere" to think about the implications of that statement, as somewhere there may be a 6 year old ready to challenge it.
