In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

The Path To Inner Peace: Discovering What Is Real

We are often in such a hurry, but why?

We rush here and there, as we stress ourselves to accomplish without even understanding if what we want to accomplish is just an illusion.

This is a world in which there is no permanence and we all die, yet even knowing this, we deceive ourselves to think otherwise.

Beyond our basic needs, the pursuit of money other than for charitable purposes is a waste of time.

But love is real. Forgiveness is real. Lifting the human spirit is real. Joy is real. Making this a better world through compassion is real. Beauty is real. Hope is real. Kindness is real.

Healing the sick is real. Giving those in need a helping hand is real.

Spiritual growth is not only real, it is the reason we are here, as we resolve our karmic issues. If we awaken during our lifetimes, we discover our spiritual selves and those here in spirit that interact with us and guide us.

We also realize that we in body are all on a spiritual journey together. It doesn't matter where on the planet we live, or our skin color, our gender or our facial features. There is no "them" versus "us," only "we."

Nations are an illusion, all of which throughout history have risen and fallen. Most of what we know as history is an illusion, as are most religious claims, for they are primarily mythology often used to serve those who seek power.

There is no such thing as an "illegal immigrant," a term used to incite fear. The planet belongs to everyone.

But slavery is real, human trafficking is real and torture is real.

Making ever more money for oneself in a world of vast poverty is real. It is greed and an ugly way the ego strives to call attention to itself.

Ultimately, all that money not donated to help others is simply left behind in a selfish attempt to perpetuate family wealth, in a world in which the journey is brief and everyone dies.

"Do unto others as you would have done unto you," however is real, as is "Thou shalt not kill," for these proclamations serve our spiritual purposes.

Wars are also real as mankind commits suicide, in some cases even jeopardizing the planet where he and all other beings live. The consequences are horrific as mankind in the name of peace, freedom or in the holy name of religion commits mass murder and destruction.

What is real? "Love thy neighbor."

What else is real? Seek your spiritual self through meditation and contemplation, as you discover your real purpose. In fulfilling this purpose is where you will find inner peace.
