Last night at Anne's and my grandson Ikaika's 3rd birthday party, I presented him with a small gold coin about the size of a U.S. Dime.
The coin was in the palm of my left hand and in what I thought would be a teachable moment, I was going to teach him about the value of this coin.
Instead, Ikaika grabbed the coin from my hand, and raced down the hall to put it in his piggy bank.
It did however turn out to be a teachable moment.
I learned not to hold any coins out to him without anticipating he'd grab them and run them to his piggy bank.

I'm chuckling in writing this post.
In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
