In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

Saying Goodbye

Each school day morning I greet the children and their parents on their way to school, and I greet many a commuter.

Yesterday, a middle age woman drove up to me, and in a solemn voice, told me that my warm greeting and big smile was something her husband always looked forward to. It lifted his spirits

I thanked her, and asked about him.

It was then she told me he passed away a few weeks ago. But she wanted to let me know how important my greetings were in his life.

I could feel her pain, and my heart broke for her. And in my mind, I softly said goodbye to him.

With Love To All - Dick
