In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

"Ball, Hersh, By"

Yesterday, Anne's and my son Kyle put his 18 month old son Ikaika briefly on the phone to speak with Anne. While on the phone he said to Anne, "Ball, Hersh (for Hershey Bar), By."

Ikaika also referred to his dad not as "Dad" but "Kyle," which he did as well while I was on the phone.

Time passes so quickly, it is fun to enjoy Ikaika while he is still tiny, making one discovery after the next and happy to focus on those around him, sincerely expressing what he feels.
