In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

Ikaika And His Powerful Grip, 7/3/14

On Friday, 7/3 Anne and I went to our 14 year old grandson Keoni's basketball game.

But while we were there, Keoni's baby brother, 18 month old Ikaika grabbed my left index finger and pulled me to go with him.

We went into the next gym and all around the outside grounds as Ikaika gripped my finger each time I tried to slow him down.

He scurried up on a brick planter, onto a bench and tried to push heavy glass doors open. Until I stopped him he attempted to run up stairs and he pursued anything else that got his attention.

Ikaika also talked up a storm, trying to describe with his limited toddler sized vocabulary what he was seeing and doing.

After having fun with him, I brought him back to his parents at Keoni's basketball game, pleased to have had this special time with my baby grandson.
