In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

Playing God

Throughout history, religions have declared war on those who don't believe or practice the faith as they say it must be. The Muslims call it Jihad. But if religions can harm others in God's name, it means those who do this are playing God.

As a man of peace, I know there is a place for war. But that place is an internal battle, one each of us must fight for ourselves as we confront our shortcomings and strive to become better people.

This is the role of Jihad, one of purifying one's own heart, and loving all of God's creations.
