On Saturday, 2/23/13 Keoni and his friend Reilly were on a Laker basketball team that went 13 - 0 for the season and won the championship. Their coaches were their dads, Kyle and Jared and the coaches as much as all the boys were thrilled with the results of the game and the season.
In the stands was Diane with Keoni's two month old, 12 pound baby brother Ikaika, who cheered them on by sleeping, staring at the overhead lights or drinking his bottle of milk.
Also in the stands were our dear friends, Jamie and Laura Rosenwald and Jeff Milch, with his 13 year old son Jake. It was a joy to see Jamie and Laura, and to spend time with Jeff, who is fighting what is reported to be a terminal bout with cancer.
Jeff was celebratory in mood and he expressed his good wishes to everyone, making them the center of attention rather than himself. And his sense of humor stood out as much as his remarkable ability to discuss oldies but goodies that played on the loud speaker after the game, particularly one by Emerson, Lake and Palmer from about 40 years ago.

In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
