On Friday evening at the Norris Theater in Palos Verdes, California Anne's and my 5 year old granddaughter Carina joined with many other children ranging in age from 4 to teenage in conducting a wonderful ballet recital.
Carina was on stage with five other tiny girls as they danced "Little Clouds, Turns, and Roses," in front of an audience of a few hundred parents, grandparents and other family members and friends, as the audience oooohhhhed and ahhhhed and clapped and cheered and lovingly laughed.
Carina wore a little green tutu and like the other five tiny girls, had her hair in a bun. It was so cute, Anne and I joined with her parents, Clayton and Maria in swooning over their performance.
After the show there was picture taking and flower presentations to hopefully all the girls who performed. Carina received bouquets from Clayton and Maria and from Anne and me.
Her big brother, 8 year old Cameron couldn't be there because he attended a party with a large group of other little boys, his best friend Valentin's party. But this was Carina's special night and we joyously helped her celebrate it.

Note: The show had just one male dancer, a teenage boy who was superb.
In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
