In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

Keoni's Soccer Game Today, 11/16/13

This morning I had the pleasure of joining my son Kyle, and my 13 year old grandson Keoni as Keoni played in a playoff soccer game.

Keoni's team lost 5 to 1 and was eliminated from the playoffs. But to me, that was not memorable.

What mattered was seeing and hearing the sudden difference in Keoni.

Puberty has begun and he is getting taller, his face is starting to look a bit more mature and his voice has begun to deepen. He won't be a boy for much longer and I'm thankful to witness this transition.

I also found it deeply meaningful to listen to Kyle as he discussed some business issues. As Keoni has begun one form of growth, Kyle, who is already very smart and successful, is growing ever wiser by dealing with his latest set of business issues.

It is Karma for both of them and fascinating to observe.
