In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

A Humorous Airport Security Guard

On arriving at Vancouver International Airport on June 30th for our return flight home to Los Angeles, it was a lengthy process to get through the airport and by the time we reached the security checkpoint, my wife Anne was a little irritated.

After completing the security checkpoint, as I knelt down to re-tie my shoes, Anne walked off in a huff, bothered by my upbeat attitude and patience. Observing this a 25 ish security guard with a big smile leaned over and said to me, "I think she is angry at you."

As I I looked up and saw Anne off in the distance walking away, I replied with a chuckle "I think you're right. I better approach her slowly."

With a laugh, he answered "if you need help just tell us and we'll hold her back." With that comment we both laughed and I wished him a good afternoon as he wished me a good flight.
