Right after they arrived, as a gift we gave each boy a balsa wood airplane and a chocolate bar, the latter of which was soon eaten. Then Melody and I took the boys to a park and then a school play yard to play, as Kevin began his excellent handy work Anne hired him to do.
The boys ran every which direction and flew those aircraft until those aircraft began to lose their parts. They also climbed a tree and later climbed all over the school's play yard equipment.
After we returned home, Gannon raided our refrigerator, serving himself another chocolate bar, without our having noticed.
But Melody spotted him and had him share the chocolate bar with Brody, as we also served Brody regular milk and Gannon, chocolate milk which each boy requested.
When it came time to leave, both little guys gave us big hugs, and from the car, everybody called out to us and vigorously waved goodbye.
These are very special times, times Anne and I always treasure.

2/6/14 Yesterday the boys' other grandfather, Ben Haney, a wonderful man, sent the following lovely message in response to the original piece:
I enjoyed your story,
Dick. Watching those two galoots grow up is a tremendous joy for
me. I love their take on life, their stories and the mischief that they
get into.
Thanks, Ben
