To many people, food is to be quickly devoured, not savored, as they are always in a hurry.
They don't realize that seldom is there a reason to be in a hurry for we are all going to wind up in the same place anyway.
It is our love and happiness and our personal growth during life's journey that matters.
A part of that happiness is in savoring our food, for we devote so much of our time each day to eating.
As I learned in watching a video of now 87 year old Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh, treat a meal as a meditation and relax, carefully enjoying each bite.
Since I've begun doing that this year, I find I'm more relaxed and I enjoy my food much more than I ever have before.
A meal has become a joyous occasion, one made even happier by enjoying it with loved ones.

In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
