In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

Luncheon For Lisa, 11/16/14

Aunt Eleanor is hosting a visit for my sister Lisa, who is visiting from Placerville.

Anne and I hosted a luncheon for Lisa at Cafe Cordial in Sherman Oaks, which included my other sister Lorrie, as well as Kyle, Diane and 23 month old Ikaika and Maria and Cameron, age 9 and Carina, age 6.

It was wonderful to bring everyone together so Lisa could see them, and they Lisa. But also we so enjoy the time with Aunt Eleanor and how very nice to have her company.

What I most recall was how funny Kyle was as he turned so many serious comments into comedy, and he made a few laugh out loud commentaries of his own.

I also was touched by how well Cameron and Carina played with Ikaika. In fact I was so pleased to spend time with Cameron and to see how nicely he is maturing.

It is not often easy to bring so many family members together and I appreciated Kyle, Diane and Maria organizing a carpool to make the approximate 70 mike round trip to Sherman Oaks.

After lunch, they drove approximately 40 miles in a different direction to Whittier to see 14 year old Keoni play basketball.

It touches my heart to think of all the trouble they incurred with their families to attend this luncheon.
