This afternoon, Anne and I watched our granddaughter, 4 year old Carina, and 5 other adorable little girls ages 3 1/2 to 5 years old perform ballet for us and about 15 other parents and grandparents. Of course Carina's parents, our son Clayton and our daughter in law Maria were there as everyone oohed and awed at the approximately 45 minute performance.
The adorable little girls, all of them a bit over 3 feet tall, were guided by their teacher, Ms. Tita, and they were all wearing colorful tutus. Carina was dressed in a turquoise tutu, pink leotard and tiny pink ballet shoes.
At key points in the performance, the audience clapped and cheered and took pictures and at the end, there were hugs and kisses all around. Anne presented Carina with a bouquet of flowers she had purchased for this special occasion and we showered Carina with well-earned compliments.
What a joy it was to participate in such a wonderful and memorable mini-celebration of life that this performance felt like to me.

In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
