As wonderful as the Christmas Eve dinner was the night before with 24 people joining us, this dinner was every bit as wonderful with five people joining us, because it was a more intimate setting.
The attendees were Uncle Gene and Aunt Eleanor, their daughter Terri, my sister Lorrie and Anne's mother Mary. We very pleasantly discussed a wide array of topics, over some very tasty food that was enjoyed by all. We then moved into the living room and opened a few gifts.
I've come to appreciate these more intimate settings more than ever because it's easier to focus on a few people, giving them my undivided attention for an extended time period. At the age of 67, I've come to appreciate how precious time is and to enjoy the company of those closest to me while I have it.

In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
