On an overcast Saturday morning 3/30/13, Anne and I went to see Gannon's 4 and 5 year old Los Angeles Dodgers play their counterparts on the Detroit Tigers, and what a game it was.
One time as Gannon came to bat, we cheered for him and as he walked past the protective chain link fence on his way to home plate, he stopped for an instant and waved to us, as a smile warmed his little face. Later that inning after he scored, as he was on his way to the dugout, we cheered again, and again he smiled and waved.
Of course, I cheer for both teams and revel in the happiness of the children and their families.
Not only did we have this special time with Gannon, but with his big brother, 7 year old Brody and with their parents, Kevin and Melody. These are some of life's joys and ideally a pleasure to anyone fortunate enough to have them.

In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
