In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

Brody And Gannon At Swim School, 8/19/13

This week Anne and I had two wonderful opportunities to see our grandsons, Brody 8 and Gannon 5 at swim school.

Two things especially stood out for me. The first is that these two little boys have made remarkable progress, particularly Brody.

Only a week or two ago Brody was hesitant to go into the deep pool (9 feet deep) and now he dives in and swims all around.

The second thing that stood out is how their mother Melody learns so many names, whether it is swim school teachers or the various children that play in the pools with Brody and Gannon and she has words of encouragement by name for all of them.

When it is time to leave, we always buy the boys two servings of whatever snacks they choose from the big vending machine. Or in Gannon's enthusiastic words, "Let's see what's on the yummy line."

It makes for a wonderful and joyful experience to be a part of the laughter in all these activities and share in the fun and I feel it in my heart each time I join them.
