In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

Cameron Hits The Jackpot

This afternoon our son Clayton and daughter-in-law Maria attended a parent-teacher conference with their 7 year old son Cameron's 2nd grade teacher. What they heard was wonderful.

Cameron is in the 98th or 99th percentile in all his subjects but the really good news is his attitude has improved considerably and he is now happy in school and his teacher is happy with him. She explained that when he begins to behave in a certain way, she recognizes he needs some attention and gives him that attention.

Cameron has come a long way since he had "lunch with the principal" in kindergarten to straighten out some school issues and we are all very proud of him.

As a result of today's wonderful school report, Cameron was rewarded by being able to select any restaurant he wanted for a special dinner. He chose The Habit, a fancy hamburger place. His 4 year old sister Carina had a play date that included dinner with her friend, so she was unable to attend.

But this allowed Clayton and Maria to shower their attention on Cameron, attention that is well deserved.
