Anne and I hosted a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration at our home. It included Our son Kyle and daughter-in-law Diane and their beautiful young son, 12 year old Keoni, Anne's brother Ed Houston and sister-in-law Gwen, their grandchildren Matthew 21 and Haleigh 19 and Anne's mother Mary.
Our son Clayton was unable to attend for as an emergency room physician, he was working. Our daughter-in-law Maria, Clayton's wife had taken their children Cameron 7 and Carina 4 to the San Jose area to be with her family and our son Kevin and his family had Thanksgiving earlier at their home.
But it was such a happy Thanksgiving as we all shared stories and humor and everyone but me dined on roast beef and turkey. As a vegetarian, I had vegetarian chili. Desserts included Diane's homemade apple and pumpkin pies and Anne's homemade chocolate pudding. The setting was warm and cozy and the enjoyment of each person's company made Thanksgiving special.

In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
