On a beautful Wednesday, Anne and I had Cameron 8 and Carina 5 and we took them to see "Epic," an animated movie they had been wanting to see.
Prior to the movie, we took them to the toy store in the mall, where Cameron chose a Lego toy as he often does and Carina chose a nail polish set for little girls, including artificial nails. Each child also chose a little finger puppet monster.
Before the movie we let the children choose whatever goodies they wanted to eat and they chose goodies galore. They were enraptured with the film and afterward we had a rousing dinner at Ruby's a 1940's, 50's style cafe, also in the mall.
We then brought the children to our home where they each ate a Hershey Bar and played with their new toys, while also watching the movie of their choice, "Nacho Libre" (2006) starring Jack Black, a movie they've chosen 2 or 3 times before, but always enjoy.
When their mother Maria picked them up that night, they didn't want to leave, a tribute to us having spoiled them rotten.

In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
