In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.

"That Would Be Me Mrs. Dick"

Today when Anne went to the Palos Verdes Trader Joe's grocery store to pickup the round Jewish corn rye bread I order each week, she was quickly recognized by some of the managers.

"Are you any relation to Dick," one manager asked. "That would be me Mrs. Dick," she replied with a chuckle.

That the managers recognize us is really very simple.

Each week I call and a manager answers the phone. I always greet the respondant with warmth, take note of this person's name and make my request, a request some managers already anticipate.

By treating each manager cordially and respectfully, it builds a very nice relationship, one we all enjoy.

Dick
