On Sunday, 9/8/13 Anne and I had the pleasure of taking two of our grandchildren, Cameron age 8 and his sister Carina age 5 to the movies to see the funny animated film, "Monsters University."
They selected all the junkies they could eat and drink and then enjoyed the film immensely, as did Anne and I. But then I was biased for I loved the company.
Afterwards we took them to a bookstore and bought them each a book of their choosing, followed by a visit to a yogurt shop where we bought them yogurt with plenty of topping
We then whisked them back to our house for playtime, as they swung on the swings and slid on the slide in our backyard, while also playing with the balls.
Soon they were watching a movie in our home, while Cameron played with his little men and Carina drank some chocolate milk. It was a lot of fun for all of us and was hard to say goodbye when their parents picked them up.
And today 9/10, under the warmth of the sun, a gentle breeze moves the empty swings in our yard back and forth, and I can still picture Cameron and Carina swinging and I can hear their laughter even as I stand in the silence.

In this Journal, I will attempt to strip away my protective veneer to view and communicate honestly what the truth is as I perceive it. My intent is to grow, for without an honest evaluation of the truth, how else can one fully absorb life's more difficult lessons and benefit by them. If I do this in secret, then I am still hiding behind a protective veneer, so it is being published online. If you find this Journal, you are welcome to read it and hopefully grow from it as well.
